As a part of our 7th grade life science curriculum, we will explore the structure and function of plant and animal cells, the difference between photosynthesis and cellular respiration, and enter the world of genetics. This is an inquiry science course where students' questions will compel us to design and implement labs and support our findings with research. We will read and write to learn, and students will create through projects that demonstrate their understandings along the way.
In this 7th grade Life Science course, students will explore the factors of biodiversity from our campus to the ocean. We, then, will investigate the adaptations of organisms that enable survival within local ecosystems, both aquatic and terrestrial. Additionally, to better understand both the factors of biodiversity and adaptations for survival, we will collect, analyze, and classify organisms along the way.
